Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-03. This policy is available in English for now; a Spanish version follows. We write it to describe what the product actually does — if something here ever stops being true, treat it as a bug and tell us.
1. Who we are
Vuork is an intelligent job-matching platform with an integrated AI assistant. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have over it.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what the product needs to work:
- Account & profile: name, email, date of birth, country/city of residence, and optionally gender, profile photo and phone if you provide them.
- Your CV & professional profile: work history, education, skills, languages and the structured profile we generate from your CV.
- Derived data: vector embeddings of your profile, tailored CVs, cover letters and per-match AI verdicts.
- Behavioral data: likes/dislikes, applications you track, companies you watch, and product analytics events (see §6).
We do not collect government IDs, payment card numbers, health data, or biometric data, and we do not keep your IP address in application logs. (The one narrow exception: we store the IP and browser of the moment you accepted these terms, as legal proof of consent — see §7.)
3. How we use your data
- To match you to jobs and score how well they fit (idoneidad + alineación).
- To generate tailored CVs, cover letters and interview briefings on request.
- To send you transactional notifications you can manage in Settings.
- To understand and improve the product through privacy-friendly analytics.
Matching is produced with automated processing; AI-written verdicts are being rolled out. You can object to automated processing and disable analytics at any time (see §7 and §8).
4. Who processes your data (subprocessors)
We rely on the following providers. AI providers receive your data only for the specific task at hand; we contract for model training to be disabled (see §5).
| Provider | Location | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | USA | Authentication — stores your email and name to sign you in. |
| Supabase | USA | Database and file storage — holds your profile, CV and matches. |
| Railway | USA | Backend hosting — runs the application servers and workers. |
| Vercel | USA | Frontend hosting — serves the web app you are using now. |
| Anthropic | USA | AI tasks (CV parsing, matching, tailored CVs) — only with your data for that task. Training disabled by contract. |
| OpenAI | USA | Embeddings (text-embedding-3-small) and matching — only with your data for that task. Training disabled in our OpenAI workspace. |
| Resend | USA | Transactional email — sends match and Radar notifications. No third-party names in the email body. |
| PostHog | USA | Product analytics — usage events keyed by an internal user ID (no PII). You can opt out in Settings → Privacy. |
| Sentry | USA | Error tracking — captures runtime errors with personal data scrubbed out. |
| DigitalOcean | USA | Job scraping infrastructure — downloads public job listings only. Does not process your personal data. |
5. International data transfer
Our infrastructure and AI providers are located in the United States. By using Vuork you acknowledge that your data is processed in the US to operate the service. For users in the EU, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our AI providers to cover that transfer.
6. Analytics & tracking
We use PostHog for product analytics, keyed by an internal user ID (not your email). We honor your browser's “Do Not Track” setting, and you can opt out of analytics entirely under Settings → Privacy.
7. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Access and export your data, and correct it.
- Delete your account and your data.
- Object to analytics and proactive AI by toggling them in Settings → Privacy.
We keep a record of the consents you gave (which document version, and when), including the IP and browser at that moment, as legal proof. We never edit that record on your behalf; withdrawing a consent is logged rather than erased.
8. Automated decision-making (matching & AI Verdict)
Vuork uses automated processing to decide which jobs to show you and how to rank them. This is core to the service, so we explain it here together with the rights you have over it.
What is automated. We compare your profile against each job through a layered pipeline: hard filters (work modality, location, required language, work authorization), a skills check (including closely related skills — for example counting React experience toward a Vue requirement), and semantic similarity between your profile and the job. Jobs that pass are scored for how well you fit the role (suitability / idoneidad) and how well the role fits the preferences you declared — modality, salary, location, industry, company size (alignment / alineación). As it rolls out, a model also produces a per-match AI Verdict (for example excellent, good, with reservations, weak, or not recommended) with a short written explanation. Today the filtering, skills and similarity steps are live; the AI scoring and the written AI Verdict are being rolled out.
What it affects. Which jobs appear in your feed and in which group — “For you”, “Explore”, or filtered out — and the order they are ranked. These do not by themselves decide whether anyone hires you; every score and verdict is decision-support you review, not a guarantee.
Factors we use: your skills, work history and seniority, education, languages, and the preferences you declare. We do not use special-category data (such as health or religion) to rank you.
You can, at any time:
- Ask for an explanation — email privacy@vuork.com about a specific match and we will explain the reasoning behind it (the factors and the expanded AI Verdict).
- Request human review or contest it — you can ask a person to review a matching outcome you disagree with.
- Object — you can object to this automated processing in Settings → Privacy (see also §7).
Because automated matching is essential to providing Vuork, we rely on the necessity of this processing to deliver the service you signed up for, together with the safeguards above (explanation, human review, and your right to object).
9. Changes to this policy
When we make material changes we update the “last updated” date and bump the version. The current version is 2026-06-03.
Changelog
- 2026-06-03 — Added §8 (automated decision-making and your GDPR Art. 22 rights) and clarified how we work with our AI providers. This is a clarification — it does not reduce your rights.
